My ideal food storage container is glass-on-glass.No gaskets, everything smooth and easy to scrub. Oven and microwave compatible.Maybe optionally with a little clip to hold the lid on FROM THE OUTSIDEBongs have had the technology to make air-proof glass fittings FOR DECADES; why has this technology seemingly never been applied to food

Glass isn't porous. Glass doesn't degrade. Glass is infinitely washable and re-usable. There are chemistries of glass that are resistant to thermal shock and are damn-near unbreakable. There are compositions of glass that break into pebbles instead of shards. You want smart glass? You can embed indium-tin-oxide into it and make electrically conductive traces. Dunno why you want that in a food container but I guess that's cool; maybe self labeling containers idk
