@IceCubeSoup The timing is definitely to avoid paying the bonus. Agreed it's entirely possible this was the excuse to get rid of him for other reasons.I find it plausible they're looking to get rid of more folks and/or send message of "don't leak". He shared confidential info , whether it was public or not, since sharing it lends credibility. It's a fireable offense in Silicon Valley - especially if you're unpopular in the first place.

@magicalthinking @chris Now that’s a credible explanation vs totally picking a random person by mistake.I once listened to an old boss argue with someone on why they “had his daughter’s phone number”. He had type the number in wrong in his contact book. I tried to explain what happened. To this day I’m not sure he understands what happened.Since it’s often only managed by the contact name that shows up, anyone can be anyone and it will go unnoticed.

@IceCubeSoup @radix023 @zephyrotv @rubberducky In my work it means "the one place that data is supposed to be and it's reliable and trustworthy".It's "the bible". Beauty of it (when it works) is that you don't have to double check it or go to a bunch of places to get what you need.

@wy7usa @one_percent @Invictus Saying it randomly is weird.My wife and I say that or "make good decisions" to my kids (early 20s) as they head out the door.It's code for "don't drink and drive, don't get pregnant, don't get in a fight".I also say "Safe travels" to folks as they leave town. Left over from work when all of us were traveling endlessly in the 2000 & 2010s.

She replied her son had gradated high school. I replied congratulations, did you give him a grad gift (I was 21, it's what came to mind).Her response was "Yeah, packed bags".30 years later, I still think about that often.

@El_Jefe @Djeep For Santa Clara County (San Jose and surrounding area) this is not true for Prop 50.That hole does line up with one oval - the first line of County Assessor on this ballot. But, there is no proscription on how you put the ballot in the envelope so 1/16 chance it shows if you don't pay attention.
