Sometimes in life you really get surprised by people. We think we have a grasp of people, but mostly what we believe about how people are, even people you've known a long time, even your wife or husband, many times has no root in reality. This is one of the most important realizations you can have in life: that humans are terrible character judges. Unless it's really obvious something is off, how the person is, is often just the same as tossing a coin. We overestimate our ability to judge people.

@Dicey IRL experiment I'm on is you know I have this routine to go to a shop trough the park as shortcut at exactly the same time. Now the experiment is that I say to all I face on the street here (as they say they feel insecure) that I cross nearby and there were handful of them having same routine or pathway each day was to say Good morning with a smile. You would be Amazed, keep do that even if they don't respond. After a while some change routine and go out to do their thing now earlier or later I dunno but they rather want to avoid it by changing their routine and that my friend is manipulating the people without them acknowledging it

@Dicey Nice.To further your point, I'd add we also think / naively believe / hope / wish people are consistent. A lot of people will respond in varied ways even to the same stimulus. That's what makes them human. Sooner one groks these truths, the better off they will be.@IceCubeSoup
