@publius @dan @beep @a_l Do you have the power to make hiring and firing decisions of you have to request the budget, get the approval for a (new) position, for publishing job ads and get an ok for sending it the contract?In my experience you quite often don't really have this decision power in a larger org.

@simon @lornajane I'm not sure if i agree.A certain set of hallucinations becomes obvious but the rest is the costs testing problem. Only it's worse because developers try to get it right even when forgetting corner cases, LLMs have no such incentive.

From a study about metal production in Australian "Production of gold had the highest impacts when considering the amount of metal produced and reflecting on the pollutant emissions released to extract gold."https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8115058/Quite often the factory is 1000 times more compared to iron (producing steel might reduce this)

@futurebird If you look at innovation, a lot of innovation is paid for by the state (directly or indirectly).Internet, or computer technology in general, medicine, pharmacy. Often the research is dubbed by the public but private companies are allowed to reap the profits. IMHO opinion capitalism is only good in fostering decentral decisions. E.g. nobody centrally decides on how many lemonade stands are necessary. This breaks for big companies (or monopolies) where decisions again are made centrally

In preparation for the #degoogle workshop at #eh22 i installed #eos on my (luckily old) OnePlus N10. After the initial installation seemed to have been successful I tried to lock the bootloader againNow I get an "your device is corrupt" error and it won't boot. Unlocking the bootloader via fastboot doesn't work because it is locked 🤪Is there anyone at #eh22 who can help me to unbrick the phone?
