@robpike Cookie AutoDelete has been my best friend for years. Close the last page tab with a site in it and all the cookies associated with that site are deleted. So, I just ignore cookie settings for the most part; they're all going to be deleted anyway...

@clive @anildash Given "if it bleeds, it leads" and only things that bleed make the news, then the tone of news casters logically follows. They have worked out that fear and anxiety drive viewership. This is related to why people who watch the news believe we're in a crime epidemic while statistics show the exact opposite.

@skykiss Agreed.For those who aren't following the history reference: it's like the 1930's in Europe. The general policy of many powers was appeasement. This allowed Hitler to invade quite a number of countries. It wasn't until the invasion of Poland that the world finally decided that maybe something should be done.Given Georgia, Chechnya and others, Ukraine is this centuries Poland and it's well past time we properly supported them.

@shalien @w0bb1t Any of the markov generators have a performance impact. It depends on how much traffic you point at them. As the docs say, rate limiters are advised.

@futurebird One of the advantages to reading Pratchett when a bit older is that his stories greatly reward knowledge. The most you know (about way too many topics, but especially history), the more jokes you'll get.There's so many jokes and references that I didn't understand (or even notice) on my first reading which were an absolute delight on my most recent read through.Definitely worth putting on your "read again in 10 years" list.
