@maxburn I've got a stash of computer club presentation recordings I need to cut and publish, and I decided I'm putting them on Substack, since they seem to offer all-you-can-eat free publishing for text, audio, and video. I hope it goes well.

@maxburn I think Vimeo wasn't big on free publishing of videos; either the viewer pays like paying to access a library, or the publisher pays and avoids all the YouTube bullshit.

Periodic reminder -- related: Never install your employer's software on your phone. Demand they provide the phone to run the software. "If you need me to run it you will provide the hardware."Employee on-boarding for phones often involves enrolling it with an enterprise management system that takes over command ownership of your phone. It's not yours anymore, and your employer can probably decrypt everything stored on it, if they had a reason to try.

This is the first I've heard of this brand -- a Slashdot story linked to the above URL.So I guess this is like the YouTube phone reviewer who's making a magnetic clip-on blackberry keyboard and a standalone blackberry this year. Except their marketing material is more competent and enticing towards sales.

@vkc do I remember correctly that you use FastMail?Have a "random number" widget on your phone. Copy random number. Go to FastMail Settings → Aliases. Add new: "user-$n@$domain", with a private label naming the retail vendor.Takes only a few seconds.

@vkc I've been using Sneakemail.com for this purpose for a LONG time. Unfortuantely Sneakemail doesn't allow requesting a custom "user part" of the email address, nor a "pronounceable" option. It's a random alphanumeric string.I might eventually gather up the contact relationships I need and migrate out of Sneakemail, but it's going to be a big job.
