@CornishRepublicanArmy @Spacedrake but then you end up with a class system based on occupation, and people basing their worth on the monetary value of their occupation.

@CornishRepublicanArmy @Spacedrake that is the current definition of class. all you have done is change the potential future definition of class.

@carlygayjepsen @CornishRepublicanArmy i know how class is defined. my initial point was that definitions change with time due to circumstance, and that the imbalance in which occupation is worth more still creates a social imbalance in how people perceive themselves through their work.

@CornishRepublicanArmy in a post-capitalist society with an aim to be classless and without work-based social structure?

@CornishRepublicanArmy specifically work-based social structure that risks causing inequality.

@CornishRepublicanArmy no, but a lot of social and economic inequities are also part of the root causes of things that need to change for the better in general at the moment. as someone who believes in prison abolition, there is a degree of equality that i don't consider negotiable. i'm also bisexual and disabled, so yes, equality is important to me.

@Jewbacchus @interneteh @lynnesbian i don't link rupaul with drag. i see him as his own brand, therefore free for target practice. there are too many other drag queens out there who are more deserving of even half the attention he gets. that he used a trans contestant's coming out story as the RPDR "sob story" of a season and then had the audacity to turn around and tell the world that trans women couldn't be drag queens was such a dick move i don't even know where to begin.

@Cyclideon regrettably, there have been far too many empires. it's too easy to tangle everything and turn someone with perfectly good, workable ideals into a tyrant.

@cocoron literally down the road from me and i've yet to find a single person who hasn't wanted to shake his hand, buy him a drink, or donate to his legal costs. he is reportedly owed £600 in wages.
