@RealAliCopeman I should mention: have you tried following the hashtags you're interested in? You follow a hashtag just like an account and you see a lot more lively conversation that you can build connections from.

@strypey No. It's a serious problem in schools at a minimum. It creates health, compliance and social challenges for schools with enforcement being a real headache.

Finally got around to watching #Oppenheimer. Mixed feelings about it. On one level, it's an interesting biopic about American society, its attitudes, conscience and justifications at the time. It looks at Oppenheimer's life and achievements with nuance. On another level, it's a conceited, arrogant film that puts one man under a microscope without even a passing thought for the utter devastation and genocide America unleashed on a civilian population.

The film gives a free pass for the only country in history to deploy a nuclear weapon on another country and fails to examine the true moral failings of the nation that allowed it to happen.

My local BP station has just finished installing a rapid EV charger on their forecourt. Even the petroleum companies understand the writing is on the wall yet we have disenfranchised fuckwits like Shane Jones manufacturing some existential crisis on the way unless we resume full resource, oil and gas extraction.

@lightweight Put yourself forward! I've just been elected for a second term and part of the reason we're not doing electronic elections is that I've been on there discouraging their use. The other reason is cost.You would add a strong voice of caution and informed advice.
