@kaniini Nice survey.I know all fediverse softwares from your list except two.But for some questions about my opinion for something,there should be a "I don't care" option.Especially for the instance blocking things I thought that I don't care because if I had an instance,I would never tell my users what they're allowed to see and what not.So how should I correctly fill out a question like that?I chose the middle.And for questions about user interfaces I miss other options like Halcyon or Pinafore.I think both Mastodon FE and Pleroma FE suck and if only they existed,I would have left the fediverse within my first week lol There are others which have their own advantages and it would be nice if I could select them,too.

@lain It looks good if it works but it's buggy as fuck.Most of the instances don't work at all and just show a blank page while some other instances work well.That should prove that the problem isn't my browser.And I tested it in two different browsers: GNOME Web and Yandex Browser.

@witti Ich war ja schon im Fediverse,als du von GNUsocial auf Pleroma umgestellt hast,hatte damals aber noch keine Ahnung von den Softwares,weil ich noch ganz neu war.Aber wie hast du das mit der groessten Instanz geschafft?Gabs pleroma.soykaf.com damals noch nicht?Das kenn ich auch schon von Anfang an.

@kaniini @v0idifier It doesn't exist yet.We decided to fork with initial federation support when the federation code gets uploaded in July (was announced back then).That hasn't happened so far.If we had known that big waiting time from the very beginning we would have done it ourselves but now when Pixelfed federation is nearly ready (at least I hope so),it doesn't make sense anymore.There are many other changes we will made but federation should be the same in both projects.

@hellcp @v0idifier @kaniini With some improvements and removing some evil features,I think we can make something good out of this code base.We're currently a team of three people so we can do very much in a short time.But why help a dev who wants to get brands,businesses and influencers into the fediverse with insights and wants to create paid instances with pro subscriptions?That's against our values,against our understanding of open source and against our mission for the fediverse.PixelFork shoild be the nice alternative which learned from all the failures of Pixelfed.But it would be best for the fediverse if Pixelfed doesn't work at all.Well,we have no PixelFork then but also no commercial shit.

@kaniini @hellcp @v0idifier Of the whole PixelFork team,that means me, @jr and @fence .We are all against commercial shit in the fediverse.Freedom and the same rights for everyone,no matter how much you pay/donate.And privacy without enhanced tracking features for the companies we want to get rid of when leaving Instagram.That are the main reasons why we announced to create that fork.

@kaniini @hellcp @v0idifier @jr @fence I don't say that there should be no disk quota or no way to upgrade it.We voted internally for keeping thebquota but without the pro subscriptions.The admins here are nice people you can talk with.If your storage is full,you can ask your admin to give you more storage for free because you have nice content and want to show it.And if you have enough money,you can donate independently from that storage upgrade but if not you can still use it.

Ich lieber schlechte Nachrichten am morgen :( Heute eine Email bekommen,dass es Square7 bald nicht mehr gibt und alles zu bplaced wird.Ich hab mich damals ganz bewusst fuer Square7 entschieden bei einer bestimmten Webseite,weil sie Funktionen braucht,die es bei Square7 Free gibt,bei bplaced Free aber nicht.Vielleicht koennte man ja von Glueck reden,dass die Seite sowieso schon lange nicht mehr funktioniert,aber auch das finde ich nicht optimal.Werde es dann wohl demnaechst ganz down nehmen.

@fence @nipos @frosch @dschinjilla Bei der Umstellung zu bplaced wird man dann auch PHP7 auswaehlen koennen,aber ohne Fsockopen hilft mir das alles nichts.Ich weiss eh nicht,ob der uralte Code noch mit PHP7 laufen wuerde xD

Hallo liebe Follower.Das ist wohl eins der letzten Male,dass ich von hier aus mit euch rede.Aus technischen Gruenden bin ich leider gezwungen,meine Instanz erneut zu wechseln,auch wenn ich mir hier,gerade bei dieser Community,immer sehr wohl gefuehlt habe.Die Software Pleroma hat mehrfach kleine Probleme gemacht,jetzt aber dafuer gesorgt,dass ich mich mit Halcyon oder Pinafore gar nicht mehr anmelden kann.So kann ich nichts damit anfangen.Ich moechte diese Probleme nicht mehr hinnehmen und bin deshalb zu Mastodon zurueckgekehrt.Bitte folgt mir erneut auf @nipos oder Webversion https://social.avareborn.de/@nipos .Instanzwechsel sind nie schoen.Es sind immer komplette Neustarts ohne Beitraege und ohne Follower.Ich hoffe,dass ich jetzt endlich mal einen Platz gefunden habe,wo ich bleiben kann und ich hoffe auch,dabei nur sehr wenige Follower zu verlieren.Gerne duerft ihr diese Nachricht weiter verbreiten,um dafuer zu sorgen,dass sie nicht uebersehen wird.
