@ParadeGrotesque @rudi I agree with both your points. The problem with that mindset is that this is probably the first time in history where there employees are in a position of negotiating power so this corporate approach will not go down well. We already see that with Apple who is one of the most powerful tech companies with a strong work from office culture. There are others, and I am also changing company for this reason.

@ParadeGrotesque @rudi yeah makes sense, and there was a skills shortage even before that in some sectors in US and EU/UK so the issue is even more prominent right now. 🤷‍♂️

@piggo I don’t think he can. First of all his other enterprises are over leveraged themselves. Second he is borrowing the money for the acquisition using Tesla stock as collateral and in the business plan he submitted he promised that they are going to monetise twitter o make 44b back. Third he is not alone, apparently he has other people supporting him in this effort so he has other interested parties to answer to.

@gme people say they are staying at twitter and all that and that is fine, what they do@not realise is that Twitter in 6 months won’t be what Twitter is today. At some point they won’t want to be part of that platform.

@killyourfm having done this for my parents who are not tech savy I would advice that what matters most is desktop shortcuts for the apps they will mostly use. Distribution is not that importan, the layout of the desktop is. Unless your mom is a techy she will most likely use only two or three apps.

@leo yeah post truth people are getting some beating. In Uk too, where brexiters realise they’re pipedream funded by Russian money will never become true.The downside is that people suffer because of the fallout of all this.

@bobdobberson is there any documentation about steps 7-8?Is it possible to host signal and use it to connect to the main signal server or do you have to host everyone you want to talk to on your own server?
