@twizzt @karawynn Anecdotally, I've seen the house centipede "rear up" but, like, horizontally, when on a flat surface at a right angle to the ground, to catch prey on a parallel surface. She kind of curls her front half around her prey. However, am not a centipedologist or whatever they're called.

Thank God It's #FlydayFriday! These tiny little gold-and-black flies were surprisingly fearless, letting me get up close to photograph them. @twizzt they'll also bring females silk-wrapped insects! Some males will try to cheat by re-gifting dead bugs or debris, etc. Dangerous if found out.

I may previously have mentioned that there is an arachnologist named Gustavo Hormiga, which confuses me to no end as "hormiga" is Spanish for "ant" and I always, always instinctively first think he is a myrmecologist.
