@Cosmic @CSB I use AWS lots also, its easy, geolocation for performance is simple, certificates, databases, private networking, its all there. Its not the low cost option but its easier than managing a lot of hard metal. Mostly use the hard metal providers for hosting more censorship critical stuff like mail severs, jabber servers, dns servers, VPN and the like. A $20 a month hard metal can run what would cost $300 or more at amazon, and includes a handful of ipv4 and lots of IPV6.

@Dan_Ramos Historically fighting in a nations military to gain citizenship is very common. The US has had this tradition at lest since the Civil War. The latest was MAVNI which Trump killed.But since the government has alienated it prime recruitment stock that can actually be trained to fight and is unlikely to get them back any time soon, this may be the governments own option to ramp up all the conflicts they want.It is better than feeding and housing them for free.

@shaneohare Global Entry or just TSA pre? I'd recommend Global Entry. If Global Entry do you have an appointment? If you have an appointment, just goto the airport at 10am and wait. I did this on a layover and even though my appointment was 6 months out I got it that day.

So I got the Keeper to finally agree to cut the cable (I never watch). Its been 3 months now and we don't miss it. I put this antenna up and we get 60 channels of crap, but she gets the 49ers so she is happy.

@CattleBaron FYI I know this is old, but I use Kasa plugs without internet. I use this program: https://github.com/jkbenaim/hs100.gitworks great, you just have to know the IP address of the plug on your local network:

@mhjohnson I just happened to mount the antenna in the same place the cable came in. Plugged it into the top of the splitter and all the TV's in the house lit up. Getting one station 120 miles away, which is funny, since the antennas advertise in miles. I just happen to have god LOS to all the towers in the SF bay area, and they are all in the same general direction from my place. I'll look for the Movies station.

Talked to several people in the trades the last few days. They say things have suddenly just stopped, people canceling on them. One guys says he has been non stop busy for 10 years, and now nothing. Could be just Christmas, but I'm going to keep my ear to the ground.Anyone hearing the same?
