Happy #caturday everyone. This is Rigby’s bartering service where he trades puffballs for treats. He will pick one out, often his favorite blue one, and proceed to announce his decision loudly as he carries it through the house to the office. The crying continues until he drops the puffball at which time he will tap my arm to alert me to the gift he has brought me. My role is to heap tons of praise on Rigby and reward him with a treat (or two). #CatsOfMastodon #cats #catstodon

I knew these owls were probably going to be fully fledged soon so I spent a LOT of time outside watching the nest. I was sure I was going to miss the moment. Then this happened! One of the babies emerged from the nest. There were only two little owlettes but they were as cute as could be.#distractingstuff #birds #wildlife #owl #owls #gardening

@tomcat How are you liking it? My NAS just reached it's 7th birthday. It began its life as FreeNAS then TrueNAS Core and has been on SCALE for about 6 months. It has been rock solid all of those 7yrs. Today, replacement HDDs are arriving (I hope) as I feel like I'm pushing my luck a bit at 7yrs.Do you plan to use yours for more than storage (i.e. Apps or VMs)?

@Em0nM4stodon I would like dumb cars to become popular again. You know, cars that the owner had to drive. Cars that didn’t collect mountains of data about you. Cars with knobs and buttons! That may not be what you were looking for.

@stux When I went to high school, calculator use was still controversial and banned by some teachers. I can’t imagine being a teacher in this landscape of social media, culture wars and AI. Sad to say it but I’m glad I’m old.
