The hardest problem in computer science continues to be remembering when you should put a slash on the end of the path you pass to rsync and when you shouldn't

@ricci wibble/wobble The directory and its contents.wibble/wobble/ The contents of the directory.wibble/wobble/* The contents of the directory other than those things whose name starts with a dot.If it's the destination it'll be a bit more flexible in fairly obvious ways depending on whether it's just one thing which is being copied or more than one thing.I think it's rsync which is right and the rest of Unix which is wrong.

@ricci I feel like I've got this one nailed down better than the order of arguments to ln.

@ricci UNIX, or a UNIX-like system, has been my primary operating system for the past…30 years? Or so. I still couldn’t write a crontab entry without consulting the man page.
