@codesectionsYou might note that, what you call a binary-style kilobyte (1024 bytes) is also officially called "kibibyte", and not kilobyte anymore. On the same line there are also gibibytes, tebibytes and pebibytes. (And the same thing with bits.)

@fatboyI am quite happy with xmpp and conversations as clientnon android. The problem that xmpp has, is that the base protocols is quite limited and it has lots of extensions (XEPs). Not all clients or servers support all of them. But I am a happy user since a few years. And now conversations even supports voice and video calls!!!

@hundUnder /etc/letsencryt/live/ you find symlinks that always point to the latest version.

@iooioioFirewalld is more or less standard in redhat/centos and is also available in Ubuntu and Debian. It is also supported directly by ansible with its own module.

@kelbotMaybe the regulatory domain (zone/country) is wrong on on some of the distros, phones or in the router, and your router is using one of the channels that is not available in the configured zone of the devices. Happened to me once. For example in Europe we have less WiFi channels than in the USA.

@thumbI've been updating from the very first betas owncloud to nextcloud 20.0.7 just today, migration included. At the beginning it was rough, but it's many years since I have not had any problems, except for maybe one of the many applications i have not being compatible with the latest version at the time of the upgrade.I'm a happy user. :)

@brandonWith telegram you can register a bot on your name and have it send the notifications to you. I have done so for zabbix monitoring. There were some instructions on how to do it if you search for zabbix telegram.

@bshahWith nextcloud you were lucky, because nextcloud is not a backup tool. If you erase a file locally it will also be gone from nextcloud. (Nextcloud has this file versions optional app, where you can restore them later, bit still.) Maybe you erased the nextcloud local database or I don't know what, so that the sync didn't happen, but I'd say this was more good luck than anything else.

@someoddIf you are using git... Wouldn't it be easier to find it out using it directly? Maybe git log, git diff, etc can help you, and also a git checkout to retrieve them. Except if the git repo itself is corrupt.

@verbumfeitIf I am not mistaken, the notifications have no content, they are just telling the app that there is something waiting to be retrieved. This way the app only contacts the server when it is needed an is not continually polling it.@unifiedpush
