@selea I think I had to flip all of the notification settings before I started getting notification emails again. Not sure if that's related to the server move, or the 4.1 -> 4.2 upgrade, both, or neither.

@adamasnemesis I don't know about anyone else, but I for one like it when stories take an unexpected or at least an unconventional turn. 🙂

@Wolven Even if home addresses and even phone numbers are considered public data, there's a HUGE difference between someone being able to get those piecemeal and that same someone getting a convenient list of 100K of them...#privacy

@finlaydag33k @selea I agree. Wireless should be reserved strictly for when wired isn't practical.

@nfoert I've heard good things about both #BorgBackup and #Restic for #backup on #Linux systems. Don't use either myself though.

@Archivist Self-driving car malfunctions? Tesla's "autopilot" was all in the rage for a while, but they aren't the only offender.

@selea For whatever that might be worth, I do my best to ensure that what I post on my blog actually works. And each post is laboriously handcrafted, stored and delivered using 100% recycled electrons!

@uliwitness You don't need to go that far back even. For example, see this 1995 keyboard model which evolved from that Model F.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:IBM_Model_M_1391403_keyboard.jpg(Yes, that was before Microsoft trademark branded keys became widespread.)#keyboard #ClickyKeyboard #ModelF #ModelM #retrocomputing

@fcktheworld587 @JessTheUnstill 10-15°C?! Most if not all insurance companies here would throw a fit if there's any kind of damage that can be traced to frozen water pipes and they find out the temperature was kept under +15°C.Or maybe not throw a fit. Just bring out the big NO rubber stamp because "didn't keep house interior sufficiently warm to avoid damage".Well, that'd be kind of why someone would file a claim after having the water pipes freeze, would it not...? 🙂
