@clay I can't help but think that the UX you're building here is groundbreaking and amazing, but your demos and write ups aren't quite getting the impact across and people (including myself) aren't able yo really get it. What is it exactly? A wiki engine? More than that? It's all about the data structure right? I feel like I can use this thing but I can't figure out exactly how.

@phoenix it's really not. Most music is made in equal temperament, which just means the ratios between all the notes is exactly the same, so there's no fundamental character for any keys, it's all about relative pitch at that point.So what really matters are the scales, chord progressions and rhythms, which is what you're hearing that you can't articulate. All you'll learn is the character of major, minor and diminished cords, progressions and modes, it would honestly take you an afternoon with YouTube and a single octave keyboard to understand that, but it really is as simple as the vocals have a good rhythm and there's a catchy melody for the most part.

Woah. The #Lemmy guys created a forum frontend for the Lemmy backend, as opposed to a reddit style link aggregator frontend. This means we now have federating forums in the fediverse!https://join-lemmy.org/news/2022-11-02-_First_release_of_LemmyBBI think that's pretty cool. I've wanted to see something like that for a while, I didn't even know they were working on it. I wonder how much cruft the backend will have trying to support both UX paradigms, hopefully not much.

@phoenix like what? Lolicon?I think you can disable the whole known network as the landing page in the admin panel and have it default to local or about if you're worried about it. Personally I expect the federated timeline to be a mess, there are a lot of different people out there saying all kinds of things, I only really worry about who I follow and who follows me.
