@rs1linuxtools #Restic, Restic, Restic! 😅I have a local redundancy for most of my stuff and a third copy of the really important stuff is backed up encrypted to OneDrive via a combination of Restic and #Rclone.

@kev wow! I respect your determination. This is good advice, although I most likely won't listen to it. 😅 I'm a coward. I've used coin flips in the past, but only to help me figure out which of the choices I secretly liked more.

@nantucketebooks Thanks for sharing. The article really resonated with me. I came to similar conclusions, although my blogs never had a wide audience and neither of them survived very long. However, my experience with Hugo has been very pleasant so far and I'm wondering why @readsteven felt the need to move away from it.

@kev can't say nothing about the hosted service, but it's most likely not an update issue. I self-host Miniflux on my Raspi and haven't noticed any performance decrease.

Say...is there something similar to @bookwyrm for videogames? I often feel like sorting and writing down my thoughts whenever I finish a game and optionally give it a score. Mostly so I can remember why I liked/didn't like it. I imagine that someone out there might be mildly interested in my opinions. 😅

@iooioio looking at your profile's bio makes me think that what I really want is a digital garden. I already have a work diary / wiki which I obviously can't publish, but I think privately I just want to talk about all the media I consume and whatever I find interesting at the moment. Basically a diary with all the nonsense I consume or do. 😅Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, even though it was purely by accident.

@FossMarvin @codeberg I haven't looked at your code yet. When compiling a binary I would suggest that you use a multistage build, i.e. one step where the binary is built in a Docker image and then copied to a smaller base image without the build dependencies.Seeing as this is written in Python I have no idea if that is even possible.

@FossMarvin that still sounds pretty big. Do you have an idea where all that comes from? The alpine image itself should be just a few MBs. Is everything else Python dependencies or are you also installing a bunch of tools?

Argh. 🤬I was trying to move away from VSCode to #Vim, but I wasted hours on trying to get autocompletion to work and I couldn't figure out a consistent way to do so.I'm using #neovim which comes with LSP support, but the configuration seems pretty daunting. So, I've tried a combination of plugins, but somehow none of them seemed to gel nicely.OmniSharp-vim worked well in combination with asyncomplete, but vim-go wouldn't work. I tried deoplete, but that was laggy as all hell. Any help?

@selea but why stop there, when setting up #Forgejo as a Git server is just as easy and you can push your #Docker images there as well. 😁I did that just yesterday, although admittedly I already had Forgejo running in my home lab and I merely copied my images over from Docker hub.I can really recommend Google's crane for that (although I feel a bit bad recommending Google tech otherwise): https://github.com/google/go-containerregistry/blob/main/cmd/crane/doc/crane.md

Does anybody know about an advanced blog post on how to get a Windows game running with #Lutris and #Wine/ #Proton?I'm not looking for a basic tutorial, but steps on how to debug crashes or hangs and maybe get a hint at what options to try. There are countless settings distributed over a variety of tools and simply messing around with all of them feels counterproductive.I've spent around 6 hours to get a 1999 game running. I manage to get ingame, but it's either very slow or hangs completely.

After almost three years of working with #Ansible, I finally started reading @geerlingguy 's "Ansible for DevOps" a few days ago. It's an amazing book and I've already learned two things in chapters 1-4 that I want to apply to the playbooks I manage at work. 🤩A colleague of mine dismissed the book as not being applicable to what we do with Ansible, but I'd like to disagree. 😁Thanks for the hard work.
