Argh. 🤬I was trying to move away from VSCode to #Vim, but I wasted hours on trying to get autocompletion to work and I couldn't figure out a consistent way to do so.I'm using #neovim which comes with LSP support, but the configuration seems pretty daunting. So, I've tried a combination of plugins, but somehow none of them seemed to gel nicely.OmniSharp-vim worked well in combination with asyncomplete, but vim-go wouldn't work. I tried deoplete, but that was laggy as all hell. Any help?

TBH, at this point I don't even know what I'm looking for.If I'm going to use Vim, I'll need code completion for C#, Go and Python as a minimum. Are there any how-tos out there that could get me started?

@mforester I'm glad to hear it. If you run into problems id be happy to help. Spacevim is really well opinionated imo. In practice I do lot in vscode with vim bindings but I still love and admire spacevim

@Jdreben for now, using vim instead of VSCode with vim bindings will be an experiment. šŸ˜…TBH, I'm not even sure why. It's not like I feel the urge to drop VSCode. I actually like the IDE quite a bit. I'm just in a hardcore vim learning mood right now. šŸ˜…Let's see how long that'll last.I've only openend up VSCode twice this week so far and only for very short times. And I didn't miss it. 🤯To be fair though, I didn't get in much coding, so a real stress test is still missing.

@mforester#Vim is very appealing. I would say - the best. Simple. Does everything. I can write plug-ins myself. I only yield this opinion to Emacs people better than myself.Vscode. It's the new hotness. I use it cause I want to know what's up. But do I need it? No. I need vim.I went through a period where I lived in Vim and it made me what I am. I love that you feel this drive too. Even if you go back to vscode it's a good sign you want to be great at vim

@mforester @Jdreben oh, in my experience using the vim extension instead of actual vim is really ā€œuncomfortableā€ there are lots of quirks that really hurt the experience since then i’ve moved on to helix haha, great out of the box experience, and much more logical commands/behavior imo

@Jdreben @mforester https://github.com/helix-editor/helixyeah! it’s very interesting, though unfortunately there’s no support for plugins at the moment :(, but at the moment, for serious stuff, i haven’t had the need for it

@0rphee @mforester I’ll check it out.Tbh I am using Copilot every day now. I… would miss it. I’m also working in a JRE stack so I may even switch to IntelliJ for daily driving. That said this looks v cool and I will read the shit out of the docs and see if that changes my status
