@kev I've seen many project requiring to rebase the working branch with the updated master/main and then (and only then) merge to master/main.

I've just been on the phone with a woman who asked me some questions on a cybersecurity course I'm attending rn, as part of an interview with a local newspaper. I replied to her questions trying to simplify (dumb it down) my replies. Did I just mainsplained her? Was the whole simplifying thing unnecessary? What do you think a correct approach should be?

@kev Yes, that was my thought and I dumbed it down for this exact reason. My doubts arose after the conversation I had with the journalist. Maybe she was an expert on the topic, while I assumed she wasn't

@be @kev @lord @Linux4Everyone I enjoy using Discord! I also use Fedora Linux as my daily driver, as well as Matrix, Google services, Windows, and the like. I deeply believe in open source, but the world isn't black and white, at least for me going proprietary SW only or opensource SW only isn't viable. I need a compromise. A bit of this and a bit of that. I known for a fact that platforms like Discord are familiar and appealing to newcomers. No need to be elitist and/or closed-minded.

Do you folks like the new Firefox redesign? I do and I hope that Firefox gets more and more market share, I really fear that chromium browsers will become the only browser around.

@metalune @kzimmermann Artists have to pay bills too :\ I respectfully disagree with your gf on multiple levels as I find music an essential part of life. I feel it's not really fair to view spending money on music as pointless. Secondarily, from an ethical standpoint, downloading music without paying anything doesn't hold well. I agree that 10 euros per month can be a burden for a lot of people, but if you can bring some people in there is Spotify Family, that cuts that cost dramatically.

@kev There will always be someone on the Internet (or irl: we just might not hear them) we don't agree with. I don't like Joe Rogan, but every time I see someone trying to boycott something, my fingertips start to itch.Adding to your excellent points I feel that boycotting or, as the cool kids say, cancelling the platform which is currently under the Internet angry-fire, is just plain wrong, as it perpetrates the idea that there's is one "right" and allowed opinion or idea, which is plain scary
