       I've just been on the phone with a woman who asked me some questions on a cybersecurity course I'm attending rn, as part of an interview with a local newspaper. I replied to her questions trying to simplify (dumb it down) my replies. Did I just mainsplained her? Was the whole simplifying thing unnecessary? What do you think a correct approach should be?

       @kriive depends on the questions. I don’t think many readers of the local rag will know what an XSS is, so probably worth dumbing it down.

       @kev Yes, that was my thought and I dumbed it down for this exact reason. My doubts arose after the conversation I had with the journalist. Maybe she was an expert on the topic, while I assumed she wasn't
