@TechConnectify Elon has gone from "Visionary" to "awesome tech guy" to "kind of a weirdo" to "Nazi" in record time.

@stux That's a good idea. A lot of countries don't take kindly to that.

@stux As usual, if you get an unsolicited email for anyone, do not click the links contained within.Instead, go to the website itself directly from your browser. If your account was limited, you'll find out from there.

@chemoelectric @khoji @Beth @faduda @therobburgessshow It used to be that the advertising was just a vehicle to drive the news.

@khoji @chemoelectric @Beth @faduda @therobburgessshow If only that would put food on the plate, right?Ironically, the Google method of ads, while terrible, is probably the best option, since there is no direct agreement from the advertisers to the publication. It can lead to hilarity when you blast Peleton right next to a Peleton ad, though.

@davidgerard I'm in the opposite boat. I see the potential for utility with NFTs, and recognize that these monkey GIFs and other falsely rare collectibles is NOT proper utility.NFTs as people know them are a scam. Pure and simple. How can they be properly used? Look at #SecondLifeEvery item is given a database code. You can buy an item, resell it if allowed, even make copies and modify it. They have utility inside the game, and can be as common or rare as you like.

@davidgerard They aren't just some thing that people buy just to show off how much money they had. Most things aren't all that expensive at all. A few cents for small common items, maybe a few bucks for clothes. It is a full and vibrant economy. Everything that crypto used to claim they wanted to be, but now ridicules.

@fcktheworld587 @davidgerardActually, my suggestion is to scrap the Blockchain entirely. We can create decentralized databases without it, if your goal is to allow items to be traded between games. And if you don't want to transfer items that way, then you don't even need the external database. Just the one connected to the game servers themselves.

@jeff I think that admins need to maintain transparency with their users, and if an instance is in danger of shutting down, users should be given time to jump to a different instance.
