I am not very worried about artificial intelligence. I am much more worried about real stupidity.

@sir @cobra2 @twee Hmmm... getting this lately: tls: either ServerName or InsecureSkipVerify must be specified in the tls.Confi... and no emails loading.

@sir @cobra2 @twee Done. Now I get X509: certificate signed by unknown authority. Doing this on Arch, using aerc-git.

@sir @cobra2 @twee Using protonmail-bridge... no ssl-ing going on between the mail client and the bridge... maybe this is where the doggy is buried?

@sir @cobra2 @twee Thanks! Life advice taken but not necessarily heeded ;-)

@hund Beautiful... Do you know if there is any way to replicate this on swaywm/wayland/thinkpad with the built-in keyboard? Preferably without bricking the machine ;-)

@hund Yeah, was afraid so... anyway, great work, hope it will inspire some capable devs to get to work on this for wayland!

@hund haha, guess I’ll have to do so at some point. However, I’m always looking for options to make my travel bag lighter, not heavier... traveling as much as I do, this is rather important.

@killyourfm @eylul @voidspace @flavigula @luka @flavigula @RussSharek For the (slightly) more tech-savvy/masochistically inclined there is always #SuperCollider. The last couple of years I’ve weaned myself off of most GUI-based music making stuff with the honorable exception of #Audacity for my wave editing needs. The learning curve has been steep, but the pay-off enormous.

@RussSharek @kelbot I've been using sway for a good while now. It was the only way to get tear-free video playback on my old MacBook with Nvidia GPU... I haven't had any major issues with it, other than having to pay a bit of attention as some upgrades have separated functionality into separate apps which have to be reenabled. In some ways I like it even bettern than i3, as you can specify all your keyboard/mouse/trackpad/monitor settings in one config file, instead of the xorg conf scatter...

@RussSharek @kelbot No idea... Have only used it on pretty powerful laptops. Guess the only way to find out is to try. Both are minimal systems, though, so I’d be surprised if there’s a big difference.

@RussSharek @kelbot Yeah. As with all things Linux one can easily waste a few days messing around with configs ;-) the dangers of “I wonder what happens if...”

@kelbot @RussSharek I’m running Arch. However, there are differences between i3 and sway: setting up monitors in the sway config as opposed to xrandr, keyboard layout likewise, no feh to set the wallpaper, possibly different status bar scripts that won’t survive the transition, custom python stuff to control opacity on focused container, screen locks act different... all food for tinkering.

@tek I’m an artist, not working in tech, so I don’t really have a basis for saying much about it, but after reading this I suppose I will stick with creative coding instead of transitioning into a “proper” job :-)
