And, dehumanization leads to atrocities.Seen this way, we can substitute many other kinds of "different" into the scenario - and see that the ignorance, the denial, the dehumanization, and the atrocities remain consistent elements. Understood as a system, we can look at each element for potential mitigations.

@EvieAlways @freemo @doot /3It just occurred to me "you would allow?" may have been an "if you were moderator" question.I do moderate digital spaces, and have since the late 1980's days of dial-up.And, in that context the answer is "no" - and because the pattern is very predictable, and the contents of it are not useful to the community.

@threat @BrentToderian @wall0159 When we drill down with most "ban things" people these days, we find they're not really looking for an in-the-world outcome so much as a relief of personal emotional suffering.We get language like "I don't want to see X anymore", and "I don't want to have to be afraid"And, the authoritarianism is reflexive: "Big brother make it stop."It reflects the psychological torture they're really under.I write about this in the upcoming book...

@threat @BrentToderian @wall0159 In the book I'm working on right now, I'm addressing some of this, and how we're arriving to it.Culturally, especially as males, we're "not supposed to express" sadness, horror, fear - so, instead, rage-parrot pseudo-policy demand nonsense.When confronted on the facts, the response is appropriate to being emotion-shamed - but, couched in pseudo-policy language it seems unhinged.I think even the actor is unaware of this underlying process ...

@stux Hate is most often a result of suffering fear.Fear is most often a result of ignorance.In most (not all) cases, hate can be prevented by curing ignorance.This is why those with fascistic ambitions attack education. It causes friction in generating the hate-energy of their movement.(This isn't a philosophical musing, but a structural observation - and something born-out in our mapping of the human emotional landscape...)

If your answer to #3 involves some kind of prohibition, please explain what specifically you would do to guarantee the outcome would be different from the other two major attempts at prohibition in the nation's history - both of which were abject failures resulting in more loss of life, crime, corruption, violence, economic damage - and ended in the humiliated government begrudgingly surrendering in a "war" that it had declared on the freedoms of its own citizens.

Right now, in MI, the supposed party of woke is (anti-science) scapegoating and turning State violence against anyone with any history of mental health challenges.And, RATHER THAN helping them, or addressing the systemic causes of the proliferation of mental health issues in our society.
