@darkassandra First of all, you don’t have to replace the car if all you need is a new battery. Second, let my share my anecdotal evidence: After 10 years and 250.000 km, the battery in my car still has around 80% of its original capacity. Batteries don’t die like engines where at some point your car suddenly turns into a brick. Batteries degrade gracefully and it’s your call how far along you want to take it. Then: 2nd life (stationary storage). And eventually recycling.

@darkassandra Let me add that my anecdotal evidence refers to battery tech that is 10 years old, obviously. Battery tech has come a long way in the past 10 years and newer batteries will likely last (much) longer than the early models from 2013!You cannot compare a car battery to consumer electronics. In consumer electronics, the battery is not a priority or in some cases maybe even planned obsolescence. Your experience with those is not applicable to electric cars.

@illovo @deutschlandfunk Das ist immer so. Wer vorweg geht, muss sich selbst durchkämpfen oder wird sogar gebremst. Wer den Arsch nicht hoch kriegt, bekommt denselben gepudert und gepampert. Man darf sich verarscht fühlen, aber das nützt nichts. Bleib dabei und tu das Richtige, unabhängig von irgendwelchen Karotten, die irgendwann hingehalten werden oder auch nicht. ❤️

@MichiBrezel Beim zweiten Teil muss ich widersprechen. Ich versuche regelmäßig, in Printerzeugnissen mit zwei Fingern ranzuzoomen. Klappt nie. Die Qualität ist „what you see is what you get“. Mehr ist nicht drin.
