*orthography designers* let's make a script for our language that perfectly conforms to its sounds, makes it easy to see grammatical particles, and is so simple that you can pick it up within a day or two*random 20th century ivy league professor* wow what a ~cryptic~ and ~mysterious~ writing system! I need to make a horribly ill-suited romanization and then name it after myself!

Does anyone else feel exceptionally sluggish and sometimes irritable/depressive for several hours after eating home-made bread? This is a weird question again but, ????

I've been seeing lots of plan9 stuff, and I'm kinda interested what in specific makes it so popular/cool. (please don't tell me to install it bc I've already been considering that)

@syntacticsugarglider @tuxcrafting I always thought it was too impractical to work, but if it does I guess that could change the course of human history (albeit on a smallish scale) for the better

Anyway, I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. What purpose do you think syntax serves, and what languages do you like/dislike for their syntax?

Are there any opportunities for online programming work (an internship or something, idk) that could get me a steady stream of income (even if small)?

Is there a way to apply an abbrev to the current region? For example, if I have an abbrev that expands ouml -> ö, selecting the "ouml" part of "Koumlnig" and running `M-x <some-command>' would turn the text into "König".#emacs

I tried to install gentoo onto a thinkpad t500 using a USB, did some reformatting, and then gave up for a month after I realized I missed some important steps. Now the computer doesn't display the BIOS when I use the normal F1 shortcut, instead showing a black screen. Is there a way to fix this, or should I consider the computer bricked?

There was a security bug found in `sudo`. Is there a way to get it updated/fixed on nixos? And if so, how?https://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2021/01/26/3

@rizzo isPalindrome is a method of ArrayPalindrome. You call an object's method using dot notation ("object.method(arguments)"). Right now you're trying to invoke isPalindrome as if it's a method of the String class (since pal is a String). What you need to do write "isPalindrome(pal)" instead.
