I tried to install gentoo onto a thinkpad t500 using a USB, did some reformatting, and then gave up for a month after I realized I missed some important steps. Now the computer doesn't display the BIOS when I use the normal F1 shortcut, instead showing a black screen. Is there a way to fix this, or should I consider the computer bricked?

@if unless you tried to flash the bios I would think it wasn't gentoo that caused your issue. You may want to look for thinkpad T500 bios recovery steps and go from there
