@penguin42 From ~2005-2008 the business that handled our region's e-waste stream would let anyone walk in and peruse the week's incoming every Saturday at 7:00 am. Buy enough, and they charged by the pile. A few people scraped an ebay living, I paid for a year of college.SGI workstations and exotic stuff was usually scooped up, but for a lot of what would be sought after today the stench of old hadn't worn off yet. Insufferable coworker who is like a walking talking Field Guide to Simple Sabotage reverts package dependencies to 3 year old versions then asks fool ass questions in the team channel how anyone could possibly know what the latest version of something is.According to my boss, this is not a problem. @penguin42 As a fool, I feel conflicted to call out foolishness. Nobody likes being called out. Most of my coworkers speak English as a second or third language, I know that just makes things even harder. That is all to say, I'm trying...but I have the feeling my days here are numbered.

Bought one of those $70 Hantek USB oscilloscopes because sometimes I just can't be assed to clear off half my desk and haul a 45 lb tek dinosaur off the shelf. $70! It even comes with some shitty probes.Compiled OpenHantek6022 to test it out and and it's great. Jank-free, runs at 60+fps, does basic DSO stuff. Siggrok supports this device too.Completely cromulent scope.Video is of output from a shitty heathkit function generator that can't even make a 300Khz square.

@penguin42 The model is 6022BE. The siggrok driver is still a little buggy. Some details that aren't clear from the product description:. Comes with a USB cord that divides signal and power into two plugs. . 35V Vin . 48MS/s (single channel) or 24MS/s (dual channel). Probes that come with it are rated for 80MHz.

@foone because M$ ships a userspace that bundles a kernel, they could "break userspace" every release.Ironically, adding container support to Windows was what forced them to get some discipline and stop doing that.
