so i recently saw a comment that included this:"no one should make porn until they are completely positive and fully capable of understanding what they want so that they won't regret it and hate themselves for it"this is the problem with the language of consent: it doesn't actually mean anything. no one in this world is ever completely positive or fully capable of understanding what they want––we're all too chaotic and unfathomable for that. but then you have this term "consent" which comes from a legal context attempting to cover all this ground. and you can't just say "consent" anymore, you have to have all these qualifiers like "informed" and "enthusiastic" and "freely given" and it's like ?? well does "consent" even mean then if it's not those things already?instead of trying to squeeze untamed human passion into a legalistic framework, why don't we talk about desire, pain, and pleasure instead?

@comrade_lecter @KayFaraday @Demon @infanity_world @Haku yikes at Char (are they gone?). the fascism convo is interesting, and i wanna say definitions of political ideologies like fascism are or should be malleable because the thing itself is malleable. just like capitalism today looks different than it did in the 1800s, fascism is morphing from its previous iteration in the 1940s. still recognizable of course, but demonstrably different. and i'd also argue that an over-emphasis on fascism as the ultimate evil distracts from the way hierarchical thinking affects all social movements to their detriment.

@CrystalizedNo @Demon @jasper_map @miria @nahotakamiya so there was literally a publication on Medium written by and for pedophiles, very much of the VirPed B4U-ACT variety, but nonetheless on a mainstream platform like Medium? incredible. unprecedented. it garnered a huge amount of attention (relative of course, to our community it was huge) and then the cancel mobs came for it and Medium deleted everything. but not before Ender did some live video interviews with real journalists. it was my personal introduction to this whole world, and i'm sure it helped spike those institutions and the ideas of "MAPs" and "non-offending" pedophiles into public discourse.

i feel like a lot of people do not understand slurs. nazis act like those of us targeted by slurs don't like being called bad names. but that's the laziest interpretation of "slur" possible. obviously, a slur is only dangerous because it carries the weight of real action behind it. n*ggers are slaves and f*ggots are to be burned.and inb4 they protest that it's just cuck and kek and doesn't mean anything, there is always without fail more than one person in those circles saying "i wish i could shoot up a bus full of n*gger children" or some such violent fantasy, completely without irony. and before anyone says *those* are just fantasies that aren't real, see: the phenomenon of school and mass shootings in the US and the militia movement.i can handle a few insults thrown my way. what i want to know is against whom will i have to fight to protect my life and loves.

@flipside_valentine @halos @nahotakamiya politically, i think we actually need to face this head on: as long as our opponents can accuse us of pussyfooting around the "real" problem of adult-child sex, we will lack credibility. we have to insist that sex is good actually, yes including for children, yes we really mean it. otherwise no one will be able to hear the other important things we have to say, namely all the other aspects of youth-love besides sex.

also somehow in every single conversation (if you can call it that) antis will at some point call children dumb. is that how they see their former selves? as dumb kids? because that's really sad and they should take time and space to heal with that younger self. also, forgive me, but i'm going to side with the folks who trust in the ability of young people to determine their own lives over the folks who believe they need authority to control them instead. i think it's pretty obvious what kind of society the one leads to than the other.
