@lynnesbian Linux does not have a "the grass is always greener on the other side", but a "the grass is greenest wherever you are".

Is there a way to get rid of the GTK3 file chooser and replace it with the GTK2 one?

@lynnesbian Yeah. I get physical pains when I have to fight every single reflex that is telling me "just type out the file name", because that starts a search of my whole home folder for some dumb reason.

@lynnesbian The "feature" is called 'typeahead' and is hardcoded. In Arch you'd have a gtk3-typeahead package in AUR that would resolve it (supposedly). For me, in gentoo, I can take the patchhttps://raw.githubusercontent.com/TomaszGasior/gtk3-mushrooms/master/file-chooser__typeahead.patchof another Arch package, and apply it to my gtk+:3 in gentoo, and ta-da! Also, cred to meriipu at #gentoo on freenode.I genuinely tear:ed up when I saw it working.

@lynnesbian Yeah, I know, right. They only came and took my e-mail (service provider), and it was not even because of me, but because of some "Snowden" dude. What an insult. I'm dangerous too 😞

@lynnesbian Is this the spark that will cause the invention of a "boost royalty"? I'm worried about this development.

@carbontwelveI've used shop.inrego.se before, which has been quite high quality second hand laptops (but it was a few years since last I bought one from them). Site is in swedish though (as far as I know), and I do not know if they ship to the UK. But with a translation tool, it may be worth taking a look.

@TheGibson "a group of left-leaning Swedish MEPs have revealed that they pressed the wrong button" "'SD have now announced that they’ll add to the record that they intended to vote differently, but that doesn’t change the vote itself.'"Makes it sound like they are implying SD is a left-leaning party. They are the far-right party. I guess they are actually referring to S, but OK.

Sorry... video in Reddit link shows police pepper spraying people in a Stockholm subway, meaning (if title on attached picture is correct (not possible to verify because site's video playback is currently broken)) possible multiple instances.
