I knew a few musicians with an Atari ST, including a schoolmate who let me play some with it. I did use an atari 600xl and some atari music software at some point, but never owned an ST. In the 80s, I had A roland midi interface for the Apple iie, then an external midi for the Mac plus and IIgs, and a Yamaha msx CX5M. Also had an Amiga 1000 but only did tracker music on it, no midi.Anybody here used the ST?#retrocomputing

@penfount buy a nice pen case. Once it is filled, you have to trade or sell to buy new ones. Since I can't sell and I don't trade, my collection hasn't changed in a year or so. I just rotate pens in use.

@superflippy @futurebird for me one of the main differentiator of hardware synths and software is the human interface. At a minimum, I can adjust two knobs at a time. With sliders, many more. With software with a mouse... one, and not in a satisfying way.Pictured is a pg1000 programmer for a Roland D50/D550 synth.
