I know Mastodon is sort of inspired by it, but I've never been much of a Twitter user. I deleted my rarely used account after they started promoting NFTs. But if anyone is confused as to why people are fleeing Twitter, it's not because they're suddenly worried about big money controlling the 'town square'. It's because they know who #Musk is. They're worried about the increase in harassment that is coming. And to those people, I want to say we get it. #WelcomeToMastodon

@geotechland @parasurv I loved this feature on G+ I think it's more useful than groups. People will post about many topics and maybe you're only interested in a few of those subjects and you really don't want to see anything dealing with another subject. So you can follow the ones you like and unfollow the ones you don't. Or if you know someone doesn't like certain subjects, you can exclude them from that circle.

@realcaseyrollins How so? I mean have you seen what America's been doing to Americans lately? Real patriotism is standing with the people, not abstract concepts and tacky symbols. If a government has become destructive to these ends it is the right of the people to abolish it. Something like that.

@bonfire This is what I missed most about G+. The ability for someone to follow me for just one of their interests and just get *that* content stream of mine and not the whole of what I share whether it annoyed them or not. That's what a social network should be.

@Mehrad @bonfire I'm pretty excited about it. We need something that offers groups. And I really like that they want to bring back the "circles" concept from G+. It would make the internet so much better if we used granular privacy and intentional / targeted sharing.

I knew it was...but it let me open it with a document viewer and all the photos were there....but in like almost a PDF. So I knew there must be a way to get at them. the zip command fixed it with the -FF flag and...yeah. Got them all extracted.

@zleap No, he doesn't. He's only able to think of the immediate moment. Once you realise he's a narcissist, his behaviour makes perfect sense. It really doesn't matter what he thinks or what he's planning / what his agenda is, because he doesn't have an agenda, he is not capable of planning, and he doesn't think much. Everything he does is about feeding his ego *in the moment*. He needs constant external validation because he's a deeply wounded soul.

@zleap Yes, they could say he incited them, but the big difference is he has no legal ability to compel them to do these things. Not even as president, but especial now. They don't work for him, they weren't military officers he could command. He wouldn't even be in a position to punish them if they resisted him. But just like with Hitler, It's a symbiotic relationship. They boost his ego, he makes them feel special. He leads them, but they also tell him where/ how they expect to be lead.

@jennycohn These people are sick in the head. They're not really even Christian. According to them, the "words" of these self-appointed "apostles" and "prophets" have the most authority. They won't come out and say it that way, but that's what they believe. Whatever "new revelation" they have takes precedent and decides how you interpret the Bible even.
