By the way, now that I’m outside Apple, it’s a freaking *thrill* to create a new project in Xcode and have it run on “My Mac (Mac Catalyst)” and “My Mac (Designed for iPad)” and know that I’m using code that I wrote to do this magic.

@shadowfacts What about *subject* searching? I’d like to be able to find something I read on the Fediverse three years ago about some obscure topic, or remember who it was who posted a funny anecdote.I get that we want to protect people from getting brigaded, but the general utility of topical search is also important.

Why do cops like to use the phrase “high rate of speed” so much? It’s nonsensical.On the other hand, if you read that phrase in a news report, it’s a good sign the article is just a regurgitation of whatever the cops said, reprinted uncritically.
