@dvergano Libertarians really missed an opportunity with COVID.They could have run towards science and protested lockdowns that were arbitrary, while observing distancing and masking. They could have capitalized on all the predictable ways Big Government would Screw Things Up. They could've shown that people can stop the spread on our own.Instead they fell deep into conspiracy-theory traps laid out by Russia, Iran, USA(!) & China and are now divorced from reality.<trump>Sad!</trump>

@futurebird @fivetonsflax @dgoldsmith I campaigned for one of his challengers in the 2020 Primaries.I was shocked and relieved as what a good POTUS he was. We needed an adult so bad and we finally had one

@RustyBertrand @OurParadise I love the Montessori philosophy for mathematics. It's done with PHYSICAL OBJECTS so you get a tactile, visual sense.

@RustyBertrand @OurParadise The beautiful thing is that these beads are used for addition/subtraction but also multiplication (rectangles & cubes) and division (putting beads as equally as possible into cups)After ~4 years of PHYSICALLY MANIPULATING REAL OBJECTS, many kids have an intuitive "feel" for numbers that I didn't develop until adulthood

@ArchiteuthisFlux This being the disinformation age, when you modify a picture like this. *please* make it clear you have done so.Here is the actual Figure 1 from the paper. Yes, it is cool and yes the physics of the transducers use principles similar to those of a Mantis Shrimp's attack. BUT THE DEVICE DOES NOT INCLUDE A SHRIMP.Thank you.

@Npars01 @noellemitchell Sorry, that does not track with what the hyperscalars are actually doing. Training runs need high continuous base load and even coal doesn’t do that well. In reality, GenAI requirements are turbocharging the drive to carbon-free nuclear https://www.datacenterfrontier.com/cloud/article/55139736/oracle-hits-every-major-cloud-via-aws-reveals-plans-for-gigawatt-triple-smr-data-center

@foone Kids these days don't really learn the von Neumann architecture -- nobody does, until they sit down and write some assembly language and have to keep registers and RAM and a program counter all in their head

@ErikUden I have no disagreement with any of your suggestions. Deserters/dissidents should be welcomed. Disengage from USA. Oppose political reactionaries locally.None of those are going to stop Russia from the military advances on Europe that are absolutely "in the cards" over the Trump term.NATO has never attacked and has *no incentive* to attack Russia. In contrast, Russia violently violates treaty after treaty. An armed rapist sometimes continues until they meet an armed target.
