@urusan as a physics graduate, there's no doubt that math is more "stronger" in "correctness". A mathematical formalism must be self consistent. Given the initial set of assumptions, or axioms, you can then derive all other statements which are all correct. Physics otoh is always in an eternal state of "not wrong", instead of "right". There's nothing within maths that makes it wrong, given that you know the axioms

Looking at r/place, wondered How many crooks does it take to spoil a cooperative job.Came up with this modelHave 3 types of actors, trying to make an image1. Fixers - have the final image, take a bad pixel and fix it.2. Followers - look at the last updated pixel, choose neighbor and place average pixel.3. Fuckers - They place a completely random pixelLook at the distance between the actual vs target pictures with timeImage is representative of the job.@urusan you may be interested?

@urusan yup, they will, but the fixers of other images are, atleast for the particular target image, just like fuckers.A friend of mine actually triggered this. He changed r/linux to r/linox which was promptly fixed by someone to r/linux again, so I wondered how many you need. This I feel is also a nice toy model to see how the job is completed, say in open source, where fixers are devs, followers are users/issue openers and fuckers are I suppose bad devs/hackers.

Does mastodon store a history of who followed who when? I would really like to see how that graph changes with time, and compare it with, say, Twitter. That would be a very good analysis of the community difference in the two.#askmastodon #networkscience #graphtheory #twitter

Can I add my mastodon posts and boosts to my website? My website is static, and I would like to keep it like that. I also prefer it not to be client side generated, but wouldn't mind that.Maybe if I could query some api at build time and generate the page?#askmastodon #blogs #fediverse

@fatboy @selea @asteroidrainfall @hbenjamin @fosstodon is he willing to take PRs? I think it should be possible to copy code from Tusky/other apps (licenses not withstanding)?

@Gina @kev @Aldi80s and to be frank, I mostly get personal stuff more than tech stuff on here. Even the tech stuff is personal stuff like how someone likes or dislikes stuff

@kev I just read your most recent blog post, and I wanted to ask why you'd have a newsletter given that RSS exists? Are there any advantages? Or is it just another channel to consume a blog?

@joel yes! I completely agree with your post. I use Fluent Reader, because of the quick change between views! Also, Readrops has a weird article numbering system, which I don't understand

@joel also, FreshRSS from @AugierLe42e also allows to add or remove articles, but has no easy way to share them, iirc

My friend dropped water on my laptop. It wasn't her fault at all, and she wasn't just clumsy. The bottle cap was half open, and she lifted it. The bottle fell and water splashed on my laptop. Immediately killed the laptop by holding the power button, but it wouldn't turn on after letting it dry for an hour. I opened up and quite some amount of water was around the battery, but there wasn't any on the motherboard itself. Hoping that letting it dry for a day will help, but i'm worried.

@joel i'm hoping this will too. I've dropped water around the laptop many times, but this time it was right on the keyboard areaπ±
