Don’t have time to get into it now, but I’m on team “make the fediverse so great that it attracts more people,” and not team “yell at those who use big social.”And I’d encourage the same from everyone who wants to @spreadmastodon.Things I ask myself:- Have we done everything to make it super easy to join Mastodon and find great follows? - What do organizations need in order to experiment on Mastodon?… etc. @mmasnick @andy@andy@bell.bz

I hope that @spreadmastodon will help fediverse believers collaborate.Past leaderless movements had a place where people could gather, share ideas, and self-organize into teams.Inspired by Spread Firefox, tasks could range from giving Mastodon clients five stars in the App Store; to making materials and pitching local governments to join Mastodon; to making portraits of John Mastodon.These days, that place would probably be a new discord. Some have asked recently: How do I balance growing the fediverse with keeping it diversified, and why?TLDR: Central social media behemoths are here today and almost impossible to dislodge. The way to achieve decentralized social is to grow the fediverse, so I believe that should be the primary goal.
