@bitwarden My master password is a password but each letter and number is the first letter of a word. So if I remember the sentience I'll know the password.But for websites I let Bitwarden generate a 12-14 character mixed password.

@mike I don't bother to watch Apple events anymore, despite having been a massive fan in another lifetime. But catching up on the tech news I did see all the announcements and indeed the M2 looks very impressive. If I'm not mistaken something like 2x as fast as an i7..... Damn.

@thelinuxEXP This is not a horrendous decision. It's a great decision and surely needed. Abortion is murder. If you don't want a baby, don't have sex. Sex exists to make babies. That's it. Look at nature. Even animals only have sex to procreate and then stop. The very animals seem to have more self control and intelligence then humans. As for the Bible, it condemns abortion as murder and God is opposed to all abortion.

@TheFreeThoughtProject I'm not at all surprised. I've long believed that the CIA/NSA started Facebook exactly for this reason, to spy on and catalogue the worlds people. Not to mention control the information.As usual any stories about "young students inventing computers/software/social networks/payment solutions/electric cars/next big thing in their garage/basement/dorm room/whatever is usually ALL fables. When you look into it you find very big funding and organisations.

@hund @spyro @kacey Apple and Google are the left and right hands of something bigger that controls tech. Neither is better than the other. If you use iCloud or any Apple device, Apple already knows your browsing history, emails, contacts, photos , notes, documents etc. How is that any different from Google?

@thelinuxcast This is futile since you can just sideload the appropriate app. Secondly, apps like Blokada will just do the ad blocking on their server anyway. People will ALWAYS find a way around ads.

@arzachel You can say that again. And not only for that reason. No one should send their children to public schools, the indoctrination is terrible and they only learn evil. If I had kids they would be exclusively home schooled.

@killyourfm I was thinking back to 2008 when I started using Twitter. It was very new and only tech people were using it. 99% of people had never heard of it. Facebook was the big thing. It was good back then because it was very community orientated and you could chat to fellow nerds and quickly share cool apps and stuff you found. Sadly once the celebrities got on there it changed completely and went downhill from there... Now mastodon feels like what Twitter felt like back then.

@killyourfm Linux Mint or Zorin should be very stable. Kubuntu has been known to sometimes have issues. I prefer KDE but for a beginner I think Zorin or Mint is better. Not so many options. Less things to break.

@joshuatopolsky @thelinuxEXP These types of studies are generally heavily biased depending on how you classify "hate speech". Not everything you don't like is hate speech. Of course people are now speaking their mind more freely, which is a good thing because freedom is paramount. You will get some genuine hate speech but give Elon time and I'm sure he'll track that down and bury it.Just don't follow them. Simple.
