@epic @SuperDicq But it is not physical and comes with virtually no duplication costs that’s a big difference to, lets say a table where the production of the actual good makes the price not the design.

@epic @SuperDicq If you have an absolute creative Table that is above everything else than you are right but sometimes people just want a table like there are thousand on the market or even already have the idea on there one and only want someone to actually build it and in difference to software other people are allowed to sell a, at least, very similar table. There are people who dislike that but in fact that’s how culture used to work before the intellectual property people ruined the idea of just improving something that already exists.

@epic @SuperDicq You recently told us that you are a fan of the idea of intellectual property but at the same time you somehow want to deny people the right to choose a copyleft license for their work. BTW Richard Stallman is aware of the fact that companies use free software to run their services and hide the knowledge about it from their livestock. That’s why the AGPL exists, but after reading your earlier responses on that thread you may think of it as a even more cruel monster than the GPL

@epic @SuperDicq If you that’s you opinion fine but it is somehow in conflict with the claim that you do not wan’t to give away to big corporations for free, since that license make it even easier than any copyleft one to just take your work and never giving back anything.

@epic @SuperDicq First that isn’t gone, that’s pretty much what this “Startup” Game is about and you claiming multiple time it is doesn’t make it more true. Second, my wildest dreams aren’t about me being super rich.That’s a somehow boring dream. My wildest dreams are about living in a society where people don’t do thinks they have to survive somehow and get paid but because someone, maybe themselves, have some advantage from it and if it’s only a bit of fun.

@stux The job of the matching algorithm is to keep you interestet in playing interested into gaming. A run against noobs making you feeling like your a pro gamer followed by a match you can’t win seams to do the job very well for most people.

@Xalef @mulmeyun The Copyright on Fonts is at least questionable. There definitely is no Copyright on letters since they are meant to be similar to each other and therefore disqualify as original work per definition. If a computable set of rules for depicting letters is therefore copyrightable is a question a cant answer but at least the font in therms of what you see isn’t. (May be different on Fonts like Windings)

@mulmeyun @Xalef Ok you are right I was missleaded by a judge negotiating copiryght for a specific font. But not every font is. It is ,at least in German copyrightlaw, dependant on the difference to existing fonts and the artistic impression but not by measures like readability of the font. So since comig sans seams quite unique it could be that it is actually copyrighted.

@mulmeyun @Nonetrix Yep array sizes have to be known at compile time in C that’s true. At least if it is handled by the Compiler and not an thing that is greated using maloc but i tested this with gcc and it results in an array of size 1 since gcc is just guessing that you mean an array of size one what for me seams like a really bad idea.

@mulmeyun @sement @nina @Xalef copyright shouldn’t be treated as a form of property since it is a solution to a totally different problem. The abolishing of the term “intellectual property” my doesn’t selfe the problem but it would at least help to avoid making it worse.
