when old people complain about "people aren't going to church anymore", pay attention. it's not just about the sermons and the praying and singing. no matter what your opinion of christianity or churches, they are where community happens. you don't have to like the community to acknowledge that it is one.if you've never been, church means everyone gets dressed up in their best clothes on the same day and attend the same event, meeting in the same place for the same purpose.

without a time machine to see the future, how does anyone know that nuclear waste disposal methods are safe? iirc, there's a concrete dome over Bakini Atoll which is now cracking, and it's about 60-some years old.nuclear fuel has a half-life much longer than 60 years, thousands of years even. our current written languages may be extinct by the time those disposal sites pose no harm to anyone.please, explain how anyone knows this is safe.

PSA: please do not spread rumours of general strikes, or any strike for that matter. a strike is not something you organise by first putting up event flyers on telephone poles, and you should be very suspicious of anyone doing that.words have meaning. if you're organising a one-day rally and march, just call it that. your protest doesn't gain magical powers by calling it a general strike. instead, you're encouraging workers to act on their own at their own risk, which undermines labour.
