Royal Mail, as per Wikipedia, undoubtedly "can trace its history back to 1516". The company not only prides itself on its rich history, but also on effective customer interactions.

@evgandr shame it is, but I used beamer once.Я так себе советчик, конечно, но для суперскрипта уходить в матмод не обязательно - \textsuperscript, и тогда выходить из матмода внутри матмода тоже не нужно.

@ricardo The Pirate Bay, Swedish TV-series, but I am so sure English subs exist. Vim, mutt and GNOME2 are included, authenticity 100%.

Meanwhile, Debian netinstall image grew to 750 MB.No, it won't fit the mini CD anymore.

@peteorrall who would have thought it would be relevant... I merely reflected how back in 2011, being young and innocent and trying Linux for the very first time, it was Debian 5 netinstall image burned on a mini CD.

Out of nowhere, my dad recommended a #scifi novel to read, "Ender's Game" by Orson Card. I have not heard of either. So, "Ender's Game" won the 1985 Hugo Award. The same year David Brin with his "The Postman" (which is also an undeservedly condemned Kevin Costner movie; btw, "Waterworld" is another fine movie) was among the nominees."The Postman" is a great novel, and a post-apocalyptic fiction loved by the Fallout fans, of course. It develops the role of communication and connections for the health of society. Speculations on a similar subject are found in "Death Stranding", that obscure Kojima game with, actually, pretty serious and pretty adult plot and themes. To be consistent with the #BSDCafe , and to sync with the real world - the credit for keeping folks in touch goes to sendmail and Eric Allman, the husband of you-know-who.As for now, I have to read "Ender's Game", re-read "The Postman", probably (was in my teens back then and didn't read it in English), and also try to self-host a mail server. Though, I’ve heard this is quite a complex hassle normies should not do.

The trend is reaching normies, or a funny morning talk I had with wife. "Can't you just create a social network, with no ads? Where one just follows people, say for a subcription fee?".Well, hold my beer...(too early for beer, but Denmark is not that far)

Another political drama, but that is not what I want to comment.I am more of a general sceptic about all those Linux/(implicitly, BSD)-purposed PC and laptop builds. At my previous job, which was for the state, the e-waste room was quite stuffed with good thinkpads and macbooks. Not claiming that they go to the landfills dirrectly then, but they go somewhere. I don't understand why the refurbished corporate electronics market is so poor in the EU.Ah, and I lived in university cities for many years. Can't say that Dreamspark or whatever the name is and the discounts on brand-new electronics match the official eco narrative.

@wyatt @evgandr Oh lol. Pals, I have a spot on my ex-ex-work-issued x260, and had it there from the start. The fact is, Lenovo installs obligatory poopy screens, this is the certificate of authenticity.

With this new lifestyle, I mostly use the laptop. Sometimes I am happy having 12.5" and won't mind the screen even smaller, sometimes I am frustrated. One size does not fit all, who would have thought.#mundane

Jesus, quite a seasonal flue, or COVID, or whatever I caught. 40C fever, shivering, you name it. On the brighter side, while waiting for the occasional pill(s) to kick in there is enough dedicated reading time. In a few days I’ve almost finished “The fabulous riverboat”, the second “Riverworld” series book. I totally ignored it before, silly so! Mark Twain is such a better protagonist, the book is smarter too.The kinds of waking dreams the high-fever mind produces are impressive. The last time I got stuck in akin intoxication-induced psychedelic loop was back in the uni, 2012, when I also got a pretty bad flue against the backdrop of reading #AGoT and prepping for some interface science exam .#scifi

Lol, the big internet has collapsed, yet again. Who would have thought that systems relying on several centralized services are not that stable?Though, reminds me of the great call for EU tech independence, the one that every single outlet has been proselytizing about when the current leader of the free world took the office back. So far, it led to Denmark pushing harder for Chat Control and the Eurocomission relaxing GDPR.
