@futurebird welp. I listened to the lawyer for some of the young girls. In this shady, cynical and manipulative empire of the wealthy at least there is a brave lawyer who is very calm and proceeded then in ways we’d expect a professional lawyer to act. Against the slimy lawyers who took part for the money. It’s what I expected to hear. Seems no one can catch the ears of the most powerful prospectors except those with wealth.

@Nonilex I guarantee these things do happen and are rampant in healthcare owned by corporations and private equity. I worked in several facilities diagnostic and treatment centers, also group homes. The places I worked were absolutely safe, caring and effective. We employees knew from other employees who had worked at “the bad ones” and my brother worked 6 months as a night RN overseeing 100 patients. (!!!) He saw these things and reported but no changes. He quit and left nursing. His brother and I will never let my son Drew go back to a group home. Unlikely even a nursing home. We’ve seen too much. This pattern of abuse will continue AND increase the more politicians pull needed funding from the care for this countries’ most vulnerable people.

@futurebird So you remember end of April when I had a scammer supppsedly part of the (Name of my bank) Fraud Unit latch on. I posted about it then. It was a shocking experience. The scammer had my legal name, address and knew I did my banking there and had a money market account. They did not ASK me to reveal anything. I thought it was for reals. They told me only 14 money market accounts there in different branches were involved. That it was an inside job with one staff arrested. They were quietly looking to see if there were accomplices. Yes I did what was requested. Withdrew my money at bank and started a new account there but used a special acct # as requested “that would be masked” so an employee couldn’t discover it for a week. This was retired protect me. I felt really uneasy but well , my money was saved from fraud. Drove out of parking lot and still felt really bad so called son who was traveling on business. He called the bank and guess what, there’s no Fraud department. Drove back to bank 20 minutes later. Was able to stop transfer. Started all 4 brand new accounts. Froze my credit at 3 big credit bureaus. I was told likely need at least a year because the scammer had enough added info now they likely sold my info. I’m damn lucky to have saved my money and no loss. Yikes.

@Nonilex Apparently Americans were ok with these tactics and violence in Gaza by IDF. So many of the eager men who work for ICE, DHS, or other law enforcement do believe it’s ok for violent tactics if the right terrorist is cited as possibly present, the reason for a violent raid and taking out Americans, lawful residents and children.

@Nonilex Wondering where it is these former prisoners are finding shelter and then food? Oh an electricity or some type of power and heating would help. Maybe there is Internet controlled, surveilled, and very expensive. The news reports make it sound like all they need is food and food is coming. I have a hard time believing the murderers from IDF are suddenly going to turn a switch towards benefiscence.

@Nonilex I read and boosted this gift article. It’s even worse than I imagined for the incomprehensible evil plans the Trump administration made to be able to deport immediately hundreds of people detained by ICE or federal prisons to the infamous max security prison/torture center in El Salvador, CECOT. These are people primarily immediately deported outside the US without due process and expected protocol for the US justice system and outside of constitutional protocols. If this betrayal of high level informants becomes widely-known, there will be no informants or cooperating witnesses in any criminal investigations. But maybe not a problem if the Trump admiration is just allowed to label someone a criminal or terrorist and deny habeus corpus and fair justice protocols. Which seems to be happening daily to both legal and illegal immigrants AND US citizens.

For #TipOfDay today I’m sharing this: don’t wait 9 years to clean a crock pot. I’ve had a great crock pot I’ve used average once a week and I’m so glad I got the 7 qt one. I had the trusted old style “everyone” had in the late 70’s or so. It was maybe 3 qt and avocado green. That ceramic inner pot did not come out like our modern ones. I ran into a more heavily encrusted interior this week after much soaking and my usual go-to’s. Turns out there are about a dozen methods consensus on web search. What worked for me: inner pot had paste of baking soda and vinegar wiped on then setting for 15 minutes. Spray with vinegar and water, 1:1 in spray bottle. After 5 minutes more, wipe off firmly. For exterior same but use microfiber cloth to wipe clean. Another comment will share the most common methods. #Cooking #Cleaning #BakingSoda #Vinegar

@futurebird Yep, I’ve never seen so many people who are not cis in a social media space. But I do know what I see is a function of who I follow and vice versa. It was never more clear to me that I’m in a far different Fediverse experience when I learned there were trolls and racists here I never encountered. Any poll I see in the space I’m in I figured is more slanted to a consensus of who I see as my peers. And by the way, I’ve never been around so many people who are ND. Makes me think that literally half the people here are ND. Who I have far more in common with than IRL. Go figure.

@futurebird Arizona is well known for criminalizing unhoused people. There seem more and more very visibly week by week. Our area had very few 3 1/2 years ago when we moved to West Phoenix. Now I’d guess there are 20-50 per square mile out here where it’s a long walk to grocery or convenience stores. I was a crew chief for the census in South Bend Indiana years ago. In January is/was the annual count of “unhoused” and “unhoused transient”people. It was always afternoons to catch people in shelters and middle of night to catch those not in shelters. BUT you were only allowed to count people in “gathering spots” or encampments identified the previous July. Thus you had to blindly pass people here and there and only proceed to a certain empty lot or park that was no longer a gathering place. The whole process was set up in the oddest ways to make sure the count “was not TOO HIGH” so as to embarrass the town. I’m sure these patterns are persisting in any census count. I’d hope somehow NYC is able to include more people than just a few.
