@beautifuldowntownmannheim @heluecht @PixelFed @Zoidtes solange Du die Handynummer verraten willst und dem zentralisierten Signal-Betreiber vertraust, klar!Ich selber nutze Threema (ohne die Handynummer zu verraten) aber das ist auch zentralisiert und nicht ganz FOSS. Ich nutze auch Signal mit manchen Kontakten, die meine Nummer wissen dürfen. Was dezentrales, sicheres, und Open Source ist kriegt meine Hauptaufmerksamkeit. Nur: OMEMO läuft nicht SOOOO leicht auf jedem XMPP Client.

@bright_helpings @quietbecoming Consider saving the liquid from the can and doing something cool with it. "Aquafaba" can be a substitute for lots of egg things and veganizes a lot of otherwise not vegan dishes.This is an area I want to explore more, too.

@quietbecoming @bright_helpings My wife wants do a batch of dried chickpeas in our Instant Pot for Channa Masala this weekend. Good news for me! That means I will save the liquid, and then thicken it over low heat on the stove before trying vegan mayo or pasta. From what I read, when you start with canned chickpeas, the aquafaba is already dense enough to work with. But starting from dried beans means you have to cook off some of the excess water first.

I mostly followed this recipe: https://www.thecuriouschickpea.com/egg-free-vegan-homemade-black-pepper-pasta/ Probably the most important step here was the recipe author's hint to reduce the aquafaba by simmering on the stove for a few minutes.Here are some pictures of the dough.

@tek made the best cacio e pepe of my life last night in one of mine!* Pici boiling for 20 minutes in a shallow pan* bloomed fresh cracked pepper in a little butter in the CI skillet on high heat towards the end of the pasta cook time* added a little starch water from the pasta to make a simple sauce with the buttery bloomed pepper* transferred cooked pasta to the CI skillet and vigorously stirred in microplaned pecorino romanoYUMPan pizza's up next. I love my cast iron cookware.
