@grickle after they finally got used to it, it all went downhill *again* when they talked about vectors and the cross product.

@kicad wtf?! X11 is barely on life support. All major distributions switched to Wayland as default *years* ago. Ubuntu will remove X11 in 25.10.

#Gitlab just closed the issue about supporting #ActivityPub. Kai Armstrong says "our current focus isn't in this area".This is very sad, I really think this could have been a pretty good match *espacially* for Gitlab. It could have been a puzzle piece in how to do federated open source coordination. You know, the problem with "not wanting to be on github, but kinda finding it convenient everyone has an account already".https://gitlab.com/groups/gitlab-org/-/epics/11247#note_2597450590

@smallcircles @bzg @forgefed @NGIZero I like Forgejo and use it in the form of @Codeberg. But I would still like to get Gitlab to also support the fediverse.

Sometimes it really does help if a lot of people comment. The #ActivityPub issue was reopened by #Gitlab:https://gitlab.com/groups/gitlab-org/-/epics/11247#note_2603598572

@aeva also some Laptops have multiple independent batteries with different percentages. The Lenovo T480, for example. Not *very* common, but can happen.

@Codeberg AI companies crawl our websites. We ask that they stop by using the industry standard robots.txtAI companies ignore those rules. We start blocking the companies themselves with conventional tools like IP rules.AI companies start working around those blocks. We invent ways to specifically make life harder for their crawlers (stuff like Anubis).AI companies put considerable resources into circumventing that, too. This industry seriously needs to implode. Fast.

As a next step, AI companies are now offering "their" browser (read: Chromium ever so slightly themed with some company bullshit built in)In part, this is certainly done to have yet another way to crawl the web, but this time user-directed and indistinguishable from actual human requests.
