@futurebird sometimes there is a shadow over Bavaria that no one can figure out what it is or where is comes from. And if you listen closely, you may even hear a purr... @elight

@futurebird here's the full bill text. It is a real disenfranchisement bill, but I can't analyse it right now https://www.congress.gov/119/bills/hr22/BILLS-119hr22ih.pdf

@angst_ridden yeah, it is pretty synonymous. Like a regional term for "area with bogs". @futurebird

Whew! I knew this was going to be a tricky replanting and it was but went more smoothly than I'd expected. This mini bog started out in 2023 as a random throwing things together with different Sundew seed stalks, moss and some Butterworts in a Tupperware-type container using coconut coir as the growing medium and I actually didn't expect it to survive. It seemed to (mostly) do okay and it was time to move it to a larger container. #CarnivorousPlants #Mosstodon #gardening #Plants @plants

@plants using coconut coir was interesting and doable, but you really have to keep on top of flushing the whole thing out with pure (0 total dissolved solids) water a lot more often than with peat-based mediums. Minerals continued to leach out (even when pre-soaked and rinsed) for several months until it stabilized. I still kept some and transferred a bit over with the plants and moss, especially any clinging to roots. Here is how it started: https://layer8.space/@chillicampari/110890213825367034

@plants I also tossed in some Venus Flytrap seeds that I have been storing in the refrigerator since 2023. I just put them on top and tapped them in a bit.Edit to add- I also dropped in a couple of larger Butterworts.

@fcktheworld587 if you can, it sounds like she needs a veterinarian visit. A lot of times a sudden behavior change like that means there could be a physical root cause.

@futurebird yes, I am seeing the same thing with plants. Generated pics as reference images which does't really help as a.... reference.

Hello #nails I have a question. I'm looking for a semi sheer/buildable white or off-white with a blueish undertone polish (non-uv gel) for freehand french tipping on natural nails. Right now I am trying Manhatten/Rimmel Angel Wing but it feels like working with typewriter correction fluid (very thick and chunky, with streaking). I'll be using a base of either Micro Cell 2000 or ANNY Ridge Filler (growing out some old damage) and topping with sheer pink. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thanks!

Just my annual reminder that if you think you *might* need your assistive gear for FOSDEM, you probably *do* need your assistive gear at FOSDEM. Brussels and ULB isn't an easy one to navigate and while I don't use my walking cane daily anymore, I keep it with me for this (and C3). You'll want to try to keep the balance of packing light and still having everything on hand you'll need. #fosdem #fossdem26 #fosdem2026

Brussels has some shops for gear like canes, crutches and wheelchairs in the city center, but the hours are short, the selection is limited and prices are high.

If it is your first time in Brussels with a walking cane or crutches- please keep an eye on the ground for loose paving stones/bricks, mystery holes and general randomness.
