What is the difference between a temperate "bog" and a temperate rainforest? I guess one could have a bog but not a lot of rainfall, the water could be from melting snow or something. So "bog" is a condition of flooding ... and "rainforest" is about rain.

@futurebird I believe a bog must have a certain level of acidity, but I'm going off faulty memory.

@futurebird I think a temperate bog is a wetland, which I don't think is usually forested, while a temperate rainforest is a forest with various definitions but usually one that has high levels of rainfall. I think Britain's natural forests are temperate rainforests.

@angst_ridden yeah, it is pretty synonymous. Like a regional term for "area with bogs". @futurebird
