Ok Tusker by @shadowfacts (still in TestFlight) seems to do this the best at notifications right now. Doesn’t group as aggressively as I’d prefer but it fits what I’m looking for better than any of the others I’ve tried and it has a pretty good Mac app already too.

@shadowfacts I have to imagine dialing that in to feel right for so many different types of users would be difficult!Yeah, for me I think it’d be nice if basically all favorites were grouped over all time. I can always tap into one to see the individuals if I really wanted to. Maybe same for boosts? And then follows I think grouped by day or over multiple hours?I totally understand if I’m way outside the norm here though. And possibly theres other side-effects I’m not thinking through

Remember when social apps were all bootstrapping off of the Twitter social graph (a la Instagram) before Twitter shut that down? Could Mastodon become that again?

This is sooooo good. @thillsman found a simple way to wrap Mastodon links to unfurl with text in the Messages app (and maybe others with special Twitter handling?)Been using it while he’s hacked on this and it’s already made sharing mastodon links _way_ better. Playing around with @jordibruin’s excellent MacWhisper app for creating transcriptions for @Launched and I got a little workflow built out for adding them to my websiteIt’s still a bit manual and generating them does take a while so it’ll take a bit to get through my back catalogue, but I think this’ll be really handy to have for searching the show for timestamps of when a conversation happened! 😁https://launchedfm.com/

My basic Apple Search Ads have gotten kind of ridiculous recently. Most of my spend is on days where I had a big spike in downloads clearly attributed to things I did (guested on a podcast, launched a marketed update, ect) so I think most are folks searching “Dark Noise” and tapping the first result which is an Apple Ad… so they were already my customer but Apple’s just getting an additional cut 😒

I don't see a way to blocklist terms in the Basic ads though so I think I'm just going to shut them off for a while and see what impact that has and maybe eventually take the time to learn and dial in the Advanced Ads

What desktop speakers do ya’ll recommend? I’d like it to sound as good or better (for music) as my current HomePod mini pair, and also be relatively compact like those. I don’t want big honking speakers on my desk or a sub at my feet.I’ve never had compact speakers like that put out as much bass as these manage to, but I’ve also only ever had super cheapo computer speakers in the past so 🤷♂️

Ok I’m remembering once again that the HomePod setup is pretty ideal for me. See ya’ll again in a year or two with the same question when I forget 🤪I'm officially joining @christianselig 's bandwagon of wishing Apple would put the dang H2 chips from the AirPods in the HomePod so I could use them as regular low latency speakers for my Mac outside of AirPlaying from Apple Music directly.

Update: got the Lark M2 wireless lav set from HollylandInitial testing sounds good! I think these’ll be really handy and much more convenient than the silly shotgun setup I had, haha(trying again because Ivory messed up the aspect ratio the first time for some reason)
