@Zergling_manStreetComplete really shines for street level contributions. I used to do it manually with a paint app. Still sometimes fall back to this option, especially when drawing in ways. (it should be remarked that I map in airplane mode)@MapAmore

@toaskoas wären die Browser für den Handy so frei konfigurierbar wie am PC, dann könnte man argumentieren, dass man da mehr Freiheit besitzt. Aber man verliert die freie Entscheidung welche Version zu benutzen, welches man bei manche Stores finden kann.

#MappingChallenge (Day 79/100)Today stumbled upon a reopening of a sushi bar. Had to ask the cook to get details on the opening hours. @TheStroyer I don't agree directly. Google is a yellow pages and has access to a web crawler, so everything that has a website will be up-to-data. But that is only a very small subset of all POIs. Remember things like benches, waste baskets, recycling centers, etc. are considered also as POIs and those don't appear on Google Maps.

@jsbarrettoAt that point you would be better off forking the mastodon code and making your own algorithm that does such for another list.Let's say each list has a naming scheme then you could easily merge them on that factor. The weekly and monthly posts could be valued on the amount of replies, boosts, and favorites, and injected accordingly.For this to hypothetically work, you will need your own instance.@paul

@jomo it really all depends what kind of mapper one is.StreetComplete is great for quick contributions of missing data of existing objects.EveryDoor is great for new POI attributions plus checking if existing data is up to date.OsmAnd is similar to EveryDoor. It's my go-to option, due to offline mapping and local note taking feature. Plus I'm constantly using it for navigation.Vespucci is almost a full feature editor.GeoNotes is great for taking quick notes.
