@atoponce, yeah, I have used this a lot. I was also referring to the password managers automating the account creation and credentials management process. Maybe there could be a standard API that websites implement for the password managers to do this?

Had my first experience with #ZFS on root on #Ubuntu 22.04. The instructions in the OpenZFS documentation worked perfectly except for an 'rpool busy' error when trying to export the root pool. The first boot failed due to that, complaining that it couldn’t find the root pool. I managed to fix that by passing ‘zfsforce=yes' once in the GRUB kernel command-line. Also managed to set up remote unlock using dropbear-initramfs and zfsunlock. 😎🚀

@joel, it can be converted into a freedom preserving one with #GadgetBridge (not sure about the level of support for your device). That’s what I did with my Mi Band 6, that I bought few months ago.

I got the new #Steam #iOS app update today and I don’t like it. They have removed #chat and now force users to use a separate, buggy app that hasn’t been updated in a year! 😡 #fail #wtf

I have tried to work around this issue by setting up the #Matrix #Steam #bridge on my homeserver so that I don’t have to install one more (outdated?) app for functionality that used to be in the Steam app! 🤷🏽♂️

@deepbluev7, I know and the bridge is buggy and has trouble with special characters in the password. Had to change my password to something simpler to get it to work. 🤷♂️😒

@jimsalter, it is an intentional reference as Oliver Twist was one of the first books that I ever read. 😀 I picked ‘Sodger’ as a dialect variant of ‘soldier’ (I have no connection with armed forces and this is more towards the ‘soldier on’ meaning) just so that it rhymes with ‘Dodger’. I’m happy that you noticed - no one has so far 🙂

@jimsalter, thanks. This is helpful. I had trouble deciding which one to buy because there were too many no-name (re)brands claiming 20000 mAh, 100W etc., but there weren’t enough details to verify that they do the expected thing. Some of these listings on Amazon.in also had comments complaining that these devices didn’t have 100W input *and* output, just one of those two. I have used Anker in the past but since their products ship with a US-style plug, I hesitate. @25admins

@jimsalter, I’m neither degenerate nor do I drink. 😆 I was wary of the negative implication because of the character that ‘Artful Dodger’ was but since no one got the reference in so many years, I assumed that it wasn’t a problem.

@jimsalter, I agree with this review of Anker products based on my positive experience with them. Just that plug conversion thing is an issue for me. But for a power bank which has a USB-C input, I guess can ignore the plug (if there is one in the box) and use one that I already have. @25admins

@stfn, I followed the instructions in https://www.instructables.com/How-To-Convert-A-Case-Fan-To-USB/ successfully last weekend to power a fan with a PWM connector using USB. It was fairly straightforward and worked okay.
