Randomized and unique usernames per account isn't a bad idea. It certainly makes credential stuffing more difficult.https://bitwarden.com/blog/whats-in-a-user-name/

@atoponce, at this point, I am wondering if it makes sense to have the password managers directly create and manage accounts and their credentials on the user's behalf without their intervention. Like you don't have to remember your passwords, you don't have to remember the usernames too!

@artfulsodger The Bitwarden extension will autofill both the username and password for you. It can autofill custom fields too if you define it in the entry.

@atoponce, yeah, I have used this a lot. I was also referring to the password managers automating the account creation and credentials management process. Maybe there could be a standard API that websites implement for the password managers to do this?

@artfulsodger Ah, fair. That would be nice, rather than creating it manually, then trying to get the browser extension to catch the entry so I can save it in my vault before it's lost.Yeah, there is room for UX improvement.

@atoponce I'm so delighted to see this feature from Bitwarden! (Thanks for sharing; I mightn't have noticed for a while otherwise!)I've been using username+websitename@domain.com for my website account email addresses for years, and it will be nice to have a way to auto-generate these in future rather than choose them manually!
