I'm staunchly anti-search, so voted "strong no," but the ambiguity of the question means that it could be interpreted as "Search is fine, disregard community values!" or even "Search is fine if it tracks with community values, but I'm strongly against the current community values."

I've removed #nobot from my bio.I don't like the precedent it sets, that users must proactively have a magic hashtag in their bios, which uses up characters and isn't guaranteed to actually do much of anything because we're reliant on the good graces of developers to follow the magic hashtag rules. Why do I owe it to developers to let their software consume my posts?Nah, fuck that. I will file endless GDPR Subject Access Requests any time a bot indexes my content without my consent, then file a GDPR Right To Be Forgotten request after I have that data. I will publish everything those services hold on me, so that others can see the depths of their data collection. I will write tools that lets other users do the same with minimal effort. Anyone else run into this? Windows just completely stops detecting the card every once and awhile, resulting in having to hard reboot several times while I whisper incantations and burn sage

Thanks for the link!Moreover though the reality is that I've published so much stuff throughout my life that it's not just random websites I'd need to get content removed from or updated; it's like half my career (part of which was at the most transphobic broadsheet in Britain). Already there are places where I've renamed accounts (GitHub and Twitter namely) and someone's already swooped in and grabbed the handle, so I'm recognising it's an active security issue for me to delete some of this stuff now.
